093 Tumor mutational differences of cutaneous melanoma by age

چکیده

Melanoma incidence and survival are age-dependent, with older patients having both higher rates worse outcomes. Here, we seek to examine age-dependent differences in mutational profiles of cutaneous melanoma, which may impact melanoma prognosis treatment-related Mutational 2263 were extracted from the American Association for Cancer Research Project Genomics Evidence Neoplasia Information Exchange (v10.0) examined by age (< 30 years, 30-65 or > 65 years) tumor stage (primary metastatic). Mutation count distributions compared using Wilcoxon rank sum tests frequencies specific genes assessed Fisher’s exact test. Patients than years had significantly more mutations aged (Primary: P<0.05; Metastatic: P<0.001) younger P < 0.01; P<0.001). also less likely have BRAF (Metastatic: For metastatic tumors, DNA repair (P 0.001) 0.01). high burdens genes, influence immunotherapy BRAF, can be targeted vemurafenib. By identifying genomic age, our results provide insight into therapies most effective certain groups.

Oral and Cutaneous Melanoma: Similarities and Differences

UNLABELLED Melanomas are malignant lesions stemming from the disorganized proliferation of melanocytes. This condition is more common on skin, but may also be detected in mucosa, such as in the oral cavity. The aim of the present study was to report similarities and differences between oral and cutaneous melanoma. KEYWORDS Melanoma; Skin; Mouth; Diagnosis.

P53 antigen expression in cutaneous Melanoma and its relation to tumor thickness

Background: P53 tumor suppressor gene mutation is one of the most common genetic alterations in human malignancies. The mutated from of the gene is stable and can be detected with immunohistochemistry methods. There is much controversy about the expression rate of this gene in malignant melanoma. Objective: To determine the frequency of the P53 antigen expression by sex, age, type and thickness...

Uveal vs. cutaneous melanoma. Origins and causes of the differences.

Melanoma is a malignant tumour derived from melanocytes (dendritic cells originated from the neural crest and capable to produce melanin synthesis) that could be established on the skin or less frequently on the uvea. The cellular origin from both kind of melanoma seems to be the same but the melanocytes migrates to the epithelia for cutaneous melanoma, while for uveal melanoma, they migrate to...

Regulation of RUNX3 tumor suppressor gene expression in cutaneous melanoma.

PURPOSE RUNX3 is a known tumor suppressor gene in several carcinomas. Aberration in RUNX3 expression has not been described for cutaneous melanoma. Therefore, we assessed the expression of RUNX3 in cutaneous melanoma and its regulatory mechanisms relative to tumor progression. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN The expression of RUNX3 mRNA and miR-532-5p (microRNA) was assessed in melanoma lines and in prim...

Cutaneous melanoma.

In the past decade, major advances have been made in the understanding of melanoma. New predisposition genes have been reported and key somatic events, such as BRAF mutation, directly translated into therapeutic management. Surgery for localised melanoma and regional lymph node metastases is the standard of care. Sentinel-node biopsy provides precise staging, but has not been reported to affect...
